Course Overview

What's included

The Work Experience Programme is a 2–4 week course combining morning English lessons with afternoon internships at trusted local partner businesses. Students develop professional confidence and practical communication skills through classroom learning, real-world workplace experience, and full cultural immersion with a welcoming host family. Each week is carefully planned to balance professional development and cultural exploration, complete with two evening activities and a full-day Saturday excursion to discover the charming towns and national parks of Kerry.

Work Experience Placement

Students are placed in carefully selected local businesses, where they gain first-hand experience of everyday working life in Ireland. Placements are chosen to be safe, appropriate, and supportive, and students are supervised throughout their programme.

Workplace Skills & Communication

Alongside their placement, students develop key skills needed in professional environments, including: communication and teamwork, confidence speaking English with colleagues and customers, supporting both language development and personal growth.

Evening Programme

Twice a week, students enjoy a structured and supervised evening programme, allowing time to relax, socialise, and reflect on their experience while continuing to use English in an informal setting.

Cultural & Local Excursions

Students take part in organised excursions that allow them to explore the local area, experience Irish culture, and spend time with fellow students in a relaxed environment.
